(One Shot) Jackson's Guide to the Chosen @savagecaliber22
Entry 2: All Chosen Abilities, Listed

Well Folks, I have decided to turn this from a one shot to an entire series of Extra Lore for the Robber Force AU. Not just for others to see more of the world, but also as a resource for anyone tempted to create their own works with the AU! So to kick this off, I'm going to include a detailed list of all the canon Chosen powers and abilities as well as certain character's variations of said powers!

Note: These are subject to change and may be added to over time.

LIGHT

Flash Pulse

Basic Projectile attack

The user pulls from both their internal light and the surrounding light to form an explosive sphere of charged light. This sphere has electrical properties and can often stun opponents for a few seconds.

Jackson: Flash Barrage: Jackson's sphere becomes a spinning vortex that fires a burst of 'light bullets.' at around 1100 rounds per minute (Same fire rate as an FN P90.) After 35 rounds are fired or if Jackson cancels the attack early, the vortex itself will shoot itself at the target and burst with a yield around half of a standard Flash Pulse.

Rezala: Flash Glaive: Rezala's Flash Pulse is replaced with a thin beam of light active for two seconds, the beam itself does no damage, but anything the beam comes into contact with will get coated with a 'paste of light' that will explode two seconds later. (Think of the 'One Thousand Voices' weapon from Destiny)

Darkness Equivalent: Nosferatu

Shade Equivalent: Phantom Missile

Heaven's Saber

Basic Melee attack

After crushing a Flash Pulse or forming one with a closed hand/paw. The light will wrap around the knuckles and protrude outwards in-line with the wrist, forming a single, double edged blade of light. This blade can change sharpness depending on how much energy the user puts into it.

Jackson: Blast Saber: Jackson's Saber leaves a dim trail of light behind itself that fades away when the Saber is dispelled. However, Jackson can send a signal through his light into the Saber that will prompt the trail to explode, giving an explosive yield around the size of a grenade. Used as an effective area denial method or even as a method of traversal, as he can use the force from the explosion to propel him since the explosion itself doesn't harm him.

Darkness Equivalent: Abyssal Talon

Shade Equivalent: Revenant's Claw

Radiant Barrier

Block ability

The user projects a half dome of light from their hands or paws. This barrier can block all manner of attack at the cost of the user's light pool. However, it will passively absorb the light of any energy based projectile, including battle moves. This shield can be angled to face anywhere the user moves their hand or paw and is a one way barrier, meaning the user can still attack through it.

Jackson: Bubble Shield: Jackson forms a sphere in his hand around the size of a baseball. Upon contact with any surface, the sphere expands rapidly, before hardening. Forming a static full dome barrier of light around 10 feet in diameter, which can withstand most manner of attacks. However, it is a two-way barrier, meaning that Jackson cannot attack anything outside of the barrier. However, due to its deployment method, it means Jackson can use it to protect not only himself by throwing it at the ground, but he can throw it at friends and enemies. Protecting friendlies and trapping enemies alike. However, enough piercing damage to a single spot can cause the dome to crack and even shatter like glass.

Darkness Equivalent: Dark Star

Shade Equivalent: Specter Parry

Raycaster

Summon

User creates a spinning vortex of light that floats freely and moves in accordance to the user's will. Upon pointing at a target, a small laser is projected from the vortex's center. This laser will always line up with where the user is pointing and is used for targeting purposes, when the user closes their fist/paw. The small targeting laser will become a large beam of light, creating an explosion wherever it connects. The user can summon a maximum amount from 10 to 20 Raycasters at once.

Jackson: Flak-Caster: Jackson loses half of his max Raycasters (From 12 to 6.) However rather than firing beams of light, Jackson's Raycasters fire a single 'clump' or mass of Light energy. Upon collision with any surface, the mass explodes into a swarm of small projectiles, varying in shape and size, with the biggest projectiles reaching softball size and the smallest being about the size of a pine nut. These 'Flak' or 'Shrapnel' projectiles will fly in every direction and ricochet around any and all surfaces 4 times before shattering. Alternatively, Jackson can fire the Flak directly from the Flak-Caster, acting like a shotgun instead of a grenade launcher. The flak fired from the shotgun variant doesn't ricochet, making it effective at getting the shards embedded in a target. While not as powerful as a regular raycaster, the Flak-Caster is incredibly effective at causing a target to wound or bleed, as its projectiles are sharp, despite lacking penetrative abilities due to their ricochet property. In some instances this can be used to incapacitate a target via shooting near the target's feet, causing flak to heavily shred the legs of the target.

Darkness Equivalent: Death's Head

Shade Equivalent: Vorpal Predator

Stun Flare

Debuff

The user can either snap their fingers whilst holding a Flash Pulse or mentally cause a Flash Pulse to burst in their hand or paw, this burst creates a flashbang effect of any who see it, including the user.

Darkness Equivalent: Darkness Consuming

Shade Equivalent: Oni Powertrip

Glisteners

Summon

The User conjures up a set of four large, needle-like spikes, four feet long, with only an inch in diameter. These spikes will fly rapidly towards a target, impaling the target, however the Glisteners cannot be guided after being thrown, and require a lot of precision to use. This is the most lethal ability in a light chosen's arsenal.

Jackson: TetherNeedle: Jackson substitutes four Glisteners for a single Glistener. The light that would've been used to create the other three instead create a "Thread" between the end of the Glistener and his hand, wrapping around his palm. This Glistener doesn't fly as fast as a standard Glistener, however, the thread allows Jackson to freely control its direction, like a tow missile. However, one useful feature is that by closing his fist over the thread, the thread will pull him to the Glistener's current location, before the whole conjuration fades when Jackson reaches it. Effectively turning his Glistener into a grappling hook, only he can grapple to points in the air.

Darkness Equivalent: Sunkiller

Shade Equivalent: Lashing

Blink

Evasion

User moves faster than light for a short distance, this can both be used for dodging or offensively as a way to dish out a lot of damage at once.

Darkness Equivalent: Spectral Dash

Shade Equivalent: Wraith Jump

Camouflage

Cloak

User manipulates the light around them to become invisible to all spectrums of light. Can be detected through sound, pressure and thermal. The user must break their cloak in order to attack.

Darkness Equivalent: Midnight Veil.

Shade Equivalent: None

Light Vision (Minor Ability)

Utility

By squinting their eyes, the user allows them to view the entire light spectrum, including infrared and ultraviolet light, allowing them to see things invisible to the eyes.

Jackson: Clairvoyance: Considered his unique ability, though is similar to Light Vision. Jackson can see the souls of friends and enemies alike, and can draw out the light in it, acting as a sort of purifying force. This ability was used to weaken Violet Scorn for Alexis to regain control of her body. When used with Light Vision, Jackson can use it to see souls through solid matter.

Darkness Equivalent: None

Shade Equivalent: Shade Sense.

Photosynthesis (Super Ability)

Recovery

The user passively absorbs light to heal wounds and recover energy. Direct sunlight drastically speeds up this process. They can also manually absorb light from external sources, such as stealing the light from a lightbulb, the flames from a torch or lantern, and even the light from energy based attacks and battle moves. This ability allows a light chosen to have much more endurance than other chosen as they have a way to replenish energy mid-combat. This ability alone has helped Jackson survive gunshot wounds and having entire parts of his body blown off.

Darkness Equivalent: Blackhounds

Shade Equivalent: Yurei Echo.

SHADE

Phantom Missile

Basic projectile attack

Fires a fast moving bolt of shade of energy that homes in on a target, explodes on contact much like a Flash Pulse.

Shadow: Phantom Salvo - Fires four at once, they fly faster and have much greater homing capabilities, but aren't explosive.

Light Equivalent: Flash Pulse

Darkness Equivalent: Nosferatu

Revenant's claw

Basic Melee Attack

A long, curved blade of shadow energy resembling a claw.

Shadow: Revenant's Jaw - A large, straight blade made of two opposing Revenant's claws that can open and close almost like shears.

Light Equivalent: Heaven's Saber

Darkness Equivalent: Abyssal Talon

Specter Parry

Block ability

Coats the user in a casing of shadows which fully protects the user for three hits before shattering.

Shadow: Specter's Karma - Trades 3 hits for one hit, however rather than shattering, his casing explodes, damaging anything within a 4 meter radius, save for himself.

Light Equivalent: Radiant Barrier

Darkness Equivalent: Dark Star

Wraith Jump

Evasion

User jumps into a shadow , Popping out of a different shadow in close proximity, effectively teleporting.

Light Equivalent: Blink

Darkness Equivalent: Spectral Dash

Lashing

Utility

Allows the user to create a tether or "Lash" of shade energy between two points which will pull the two points into each other like an elastic band. These tethers can also be fixed, acting like ziplines or basic ropes, and other tethers can be attached to these tethers. The tethers can be safely grabbed and climbed by everyone, including other chosen, however the user (usually) cannot lash themselves.

Shadow: Self Lash - Shadow can create a lash on himself, effectively turning a lash into a grappling hook.

Light Equivalent: Glistener

Darkness Equivalent: Sunkiller

Oni Powertrip

Debuff

User summons a ghostly entity that can phase through walls and sap the elemental energy of a target, extremely effective against Greyscale Chosen. However the Oni has to be 'piloted' by the user and is fragile. This ability prevents the user from moving or using any other abilities.

Shadow: Oni Hunter - Shadow's Oni is autonomous, and will automatically patrol or hunt down a designated target, leaving shadow free to roam and use other abilities. However, it can only do so in an enclosed space.

Light Equivalent: Stun Flare

Darkness Equivalent: Darkness Consuming

Shade Sense (Minor Ability)

Utility

User can sense the disruption of nearby shadows, preventing the user from being snuck up on as well as working as short range reconnaissance. This ability can be turned off.

Light Equivalent: Light Vision

Darkness Equivalent: None

Vorpal Predator

Summon.

The user summons a ball-shaped entity of living Shade energy, about 6 feet in diameter that can fly and swallow enemies. Can only travel in straight lines, however it can fly up to 20 miles per hour.

Shadow: Cacodemon - (Absolutely named after the DOOM enemy, but not in-universe) Shadow's Vorpal Predator is slower, but it can rotate when traveling and fire medium projectiles that create grenade sized explosions.

Light Equivalent: Raycaster

Darkness Equivalent: Death's Head

Yurei Echo (Super Ability)

Summon.

Allows the user to create a fragile replica of an object out of shadows. The complexity of the object can vary between Chosen, usually in the range of melee weapons to artillery cannons

Shadow: Nemesis - Technically a variation on the Yurei Echo, Nemesis is really considered his unique ability, Shadow can form a two-handed, (Though he has been seen wielding it single handed, as it weighs nothing) double-edged Shade longsword called Nemesis, the sword can block all projectiles and energy based attacks (Battle moves and Chosen powers alike), can be thrown and recalled, can cut through concrete, and can split into two single edged shortswords consisting of its individual Dark and Light halves. Nemesis is also sentient, and telepathically communicates with Shadow, each of its sub-swords have their own personality. The light sword, Athena, is stoic, righteous and honorable. The Dark sword, Umbral, is mischievous, foul mouthed, and dishonorable. Both of these swords can also act as support for Light and Darkness chosen, with Athena powering light chosen and Umbral powering darkness chosen. This can be used to either supercharge another chosen at the expense of Shadow's own essence or even to give them energy to heal with. (Basically it works as a creation crystal, only with finite energy.)

Light Equivalent: Photosynthesis

Darkness Equivalent: Blackhounds

DARKNESS

Nosferatu

Basic projectile attack

Fire a swarm of small, homing spines which embed themselves into targets, sucking a small amount of life energy from a target, transferring the energy to the user, slightly healing and rejuvenating them, when enough of them are embedded into a target, they explode. (Think of the Needler from HALO.)

Light Equivalent: Flash Pulse

Shade Equivalent: Phantom Missile

Abyssal Talon

Basic Melee attack.

A 3 pronged, curved blade protruding out from the knuckles (Think Wolverine claws)

Light Equivalent: Heaven's Saber

Shade Equivalent: Revenant's Claw

Dark Star

Block

User creates a vortex that absorbs projectiles, holds enemy melee attackers in place for an easy kill.

Light Equivalent: Radiant Barrier

Shade Equivalent: Specter Parry

Darkness Consuming

Debuff

Create a black haze in front of the eyes of a target, blinding them temporarily.

Light Equivalent: Stun Flare

Shade Equivalent: Oni Powertrip

Midnight Veil

Cloak

The user coats themselves in darkness, becoming pitch black, therefore blending into dark environments.

Light Equivalent: Camouflage

Shade Equivalent: None

Sunkiller

Summon

The user Summons a Tri-bladed mass of darkness. The blades fan out from the center in a triangle shape, the blades are slightly curved outwards near the end, making a static sunkiller vaguely resemble a biohazard symbol. These Tri-bladed weapons spin at an incredibly high speed and the user can control them freely, unlike a glistener which is fire and forget. Sunkillers will dissipate once they dull, AKA when they contact a target they can't cut or they've cut enough targets that they lose sharpness. The max amount of Sunkillers vary between chosen, however most will have at least 2 sunkillers.

Light Equivalent: Glistener

Shade Equivalent: None

Death's Head

Summon

The user Summons a black skull-like entity, the skull will shoot cursed flames out of its mouth towards a designated target, after which will then dissipate, unlike their light equivalent, they're static and can't move on their own. The flames spat by a death's head are impossible to put out through conventional means, the user can dispel the flames, this is usually used as a form of torture.

Light Equivalent: Raycaster

Shade Equivalent: Vorpal Predator

Spectral Dash

Evasion

The User becomes darkness, becoming intangible, before dashing in any direction for up to about 15 yards. (Similar to Hollow Knight's Shade Cloak)

Light Equivalent: Blink

Shade Equivalent: Wraith Jump

Blackhounds (Super Ability)

Summon

The User calls forth a pair of black, wolf-like entities, after shortly howling, they'll sprint towards a target, leaving a massive field of dark spikes protruding from the ground in their wake. When the wolves catch their target, they'll tackle a target, causing spikes to impale the target upon touching the ground, however, they've also been observed biting a target and throwing them behind them, causing the target to land on the spikes. The wolves can be killed with light or shade attacks, however no conventional weapons can seem to kill them or make them falter. The hounds can also be summoned without a target, and will instead act as domesticated or guard dogs depending on the situation.

Light Equivalent: Photosynthesis

Shade Equivalent: Yurei Echo

MIND/FEAR

There's a lot here so I'm just gonna list them off rapid fire.

NOTE: A FEAR CHOSEN CAN ONLY USE PHOBIAS THAT THEY THEMSELF DO NOT HAVE. A FEAR CHOSEN AFRAID OF WATER CANNOT USE HYDROPHOBIA, ETC. FEAR CHOSEN CAN ONLY USE ONE ABILITY AT A TIME.

HAUNTING - A SENTIENT MINION CONJURED BY A FEAR CHOSEN

Phasmophobia (Fear of Ghosts): Summon ghostly hands to manipulate objects (or pummel things.)

Claustrophobia (Fear of tight spaces): create a cage around a target that slowly shrinks, it is impossible to see out of this cage.

Acrophobia (Fear of Heights): Create an illusion of height to scare/disorient enemies.

Nyctophobia (Fear of Darkness): Create a dome of any size that blocks out all light (Except the sun, but it looks like if you were viewing it through eclipse glasses,) incredibly lethal to Light Chosen.

Aichmophobia (Fear of blades and sharp objects): Summon a floating sword or knife.

Agliophobia (Fear of Pain): Summon red claws or flying needles that create a burning pain, this is lethal to all Chosen.

Ankylophobia (Fear of Paralysis): Completely immobilise a target temporarily.

Automatonophobia (Fear of Mannequins and Statues): Summon hauntings that resemble humanoid figures to fight as minions.

Demonophobia (Fear of Demons): Create hauntings that look like demons to fight as minions.

Entomophobia (Fear of insects): Creating hauntings that resemble bugs to crawl all over people to scare/gross the hell out of them.

Hemophobia (Fear of Blood): Make someone gush blood from every orifice: Mouth, eyes, nose, ears.

Hydrophobia (Fear of Water): Create a pool of water under someone and leave them to drown. Psycho.

Merinthophobia (Fear of Bondage): Wrap someone in cables to stop them from moving.

Necrophobia (Fear of the dead): Create hauntings based on someone the target knows, luring in the target by first imitating the voice of said person dying, then creating a lifelike corpse of them. The corpse then jumpscaring and attacking when the target gets close and lets their guard down to mourn.

Nelophobia (Fear of Glass): Create glass shards and launch them at an opponent, cutting them up, stabbing them, and even impaling. Useful for crowd control.

Phagophobia (Fear of being eaten alive.): Summon a haunting resembling a giant, worm like creature that will swallow adversaries.

(Super Ability) Psychophobia (Fear of the mind): Gain complete control of someone's mind using hallucinations.

Tachophobia (Fear of Speed): Move supersonic for a few seconds.

Pistanthrophobia (Fear of betrayal): Create a haunting resembling someone the target knows.

Thanatophobia (Fear of Death): Remove all mental functions from a target, requires a touch. (Essentially cause unresponsive wakefulness syndrome)

Pyrophobia (Fear of fire/ explosions): Create a small ember that will stealthily fly towards a target and explode.

These are only a handful, as there are abilities for every single phobia, so use your imagination!
