It's the night after the gang's encounter with Grimmel and Drago at Mt. Chimney, and Hiccup once again finds himself suspended in space. From previous experiences, he knew what this was and why he was here. He looks around until he soon finds the white horse with a golden band. "Hello, Hiccup. It is good to see you again."
Hiccup simply says, "Arceus."
Arceus says to Hiccup, "Hiccup, I have brought you here tonight because it's time we talk about your purpose here in the Pokémon world. You see, that battle you had today with Team Magma and Team Aqua is only the beginning, I'm afraid."
Hiccup asks, "Beginning of what?"
Arceus replies, "I can't exactly say what or when, but I do know that Grimmel and Drago are planning to do something that could lead to destruction of the world, something that will likely involve the legendary Pokémon, Groundon and Kyogre. And when that time comes, you will have to stop it."
Hiccup's eyes widen, "So those two are planning something destructive. But, why me? There's nothing that special about me?"
Arceus shakes his head, "That's where you're wrong. I have been observing you befriending Pokémon rather than battle and capture them like any other trainer would and that bond you seem to share with your Pokémon seems to carry through into your battles, like today when all of your Pokémon came out to help you. You might not be able to see it now, but you have a gift that no other trainer has, and that gift can help you in many ways."
Hiccup nods. "Ok, but how is this gift going to help me save the world?"
Arceus replies, "Trust me, when the time comes, you'll know. I'm afraid this is all I can tell you for now. You should continue on your journey as normal and I will give you more information later on." Hiccup nods. "I must go, it will be morning soon-"
"Wait. Can I ask of one thing?" Arceus pauses and nods. Hiccup lets out a deep sigh and says, "Is there any way I can see my world? My dragon world?" Arceus's eyes widen at the request. "I'm not asking to be taken there completely, I just…want to make sure everyone there is ok." He looks down at his feet in saddness.
Arceus knew what Hiccup meant by 'everyone' and he also knew that Hiccup has been doing very well at this world. So he just says, "Yes. There is a way."
Hiccup's eyes widen and he looks up. "R-really? You can?"
Arceus replies, "Give me one second." Arceus fades for a few seconds and when he comes back there appears two Pokémon, one looks like a blue, wingless with a white fan plate on its back and a blue diamond on its chest and the other a white and pink dragon with a long neck and pink pearls on its shoulders. Arceus explains, "This is Dialga and Palkia, the respective creators of time and space in this world. Dialga will slow down time in the Pokémon world while Palkia will take you on a journey."
Hiccups smiles wide. "T-thank you, Arceus! Dialga! Palkia!" With that, Dialga causes time to slow around Hiccup and the gang while Palkia opens up a portal that Hiccup hops through. On the other side of the portal he finds himself floating above the clouds. He dives through the clouds until he spots an island that he could tell from miles above, because he's seen it from miles above. "No way…this…is Berk!"
Arceus says to him, "Indeed. Just as you left it. Why don't you take a closer look?"
Hiccup floats down and has a look around. Suddenly, all the memories he created on Berk came flooding back to him. All the fights, flights, and experiences he's gone through on this desolate island. He then spots his house and sees that it hasn't changed a bit. That's when the door opens and out comes a large, black, green eyed dragon with a red tail fin that he could regognize anywhere. "Toothless!" He floats down until he's in front of Toothless and looks at him with a smile but Toothless seemed to just walk right through him, literally. "T-Toothless?"
Arceus explains, "I'm afraid that your dragon cannont see, hear, smell, or feel you. This isn't a full transportation so you are essentially a ghost to him. In fact, as far as your dragon is concerned, you don't even exist."
Hiccup's eyes widen. "W-what?"
Arceus sighs. "It's true. In order for the transportation to be a success we had to erase you from everyone's memory in this world. I know it's hard to hear but, rest assured, they are all still living their lives as normal."
Just then, a boy with a white hat wearing Hiccup's dragon scale armor and with a metal leg comes out. "Who's that?" Hiccup asks.
Arceus explains, "That is Brendan. Your replacement in this world. I couldn't just take you out of your world out of the blue so I had you replaced with Brendan and he is essentially living your life." Just then, Brendan gets on Toothless's back and they fly off into the sky. Hiccup couldn't help but follow them.
In the air, he saw Brendan and Toothless doing various tricks, dives and moves, the same kind of thing that Hiccup himself would do with Toothless. Seeing that Toothless was perfectly happy in his world, even with a different person, was enough to bring tears to Hiccup's eyes, as that was all he really needed to see. Hiccup sighs before saying, "Arceus, Palkia, Dialga if you can hear me, thank you. I'm ready to go back to the Pokémon world."
Arceus nods. "I will come to you again when your time of need is closer. I wish you luck on your journey." With that, Hiccup's vision whites out as his dream ends and he is brought back to the Pokémon world. Hiccup wakes up to see he is still in his tent on Route 112 and it was morning. After remembering what happened during that dream, he smiles and then proceeds to get on with his day.
After breakfast, the gang sets out again to continue their journey, or at least start it in the case of Snotlout.
As they were walking down Route 112, Snotlout asks, "So, where exactly are we going?"
Astrid explains, "We're going to the next town so that Hiccup can get his 5th gym badge."
Snotlout nods in a not-so-much caring way. "And where exactly is that?"
Fishlegs replies, "I think the Petalburg gym is the next best stop."
Hiccup gets a somewhat concerned look on his face. "Petalburg…right." Astrid knew where his concern was coming from but she didn't want to say it in front of Fishlegs or Snotlout. Hiccup then asks, "Well, might as well get to it. What's the best way to get there from here?"
Fishlegs then suggests, "Actually, I have a request. Could we possibly make a stop by Meteor Falls?"
Hiccup asks, "Meteor Falls?"
Fishlegs explains. "It's this awesome place with these waterfalls that's just west of Fallarbor Town. I've always wanted to go there."
Snotlout then asks, "Why do you care about going to see some stupid falling water?"
Fishlegs replies, "Because it would be the perfect place to look for some more Rock Type Pokémon."
Astrid pulls up a map and says, "It's gonna be a bit of a detour to get there but it is manageable. We'd just need to go north from here into Route 113 and then just head west until we hit Fallarbor. I've been to the falls a few times myself and it's quite beautiful."
Hiccup shrugs. "You know what? Sure. We can head up that way. Just for you Fishlegs."
Fishlegs looked like a kid seeing presents on Christmas day when he heard that. "Oh, thank you Hiccup. This is gonna be so much fun!" With that, the gang heads up to Route 113, anxious to see what lies ahead.
Thank you for reading this chapter, sorry for the lack of activity on this story, I've been kind of busy with work plus Image Fanpicks and trying to figure out what route I want to go on with Body Swap.
Quick note: I know that early on in the story I said I wouldn't be going to Berk in this story but I changed my mind as that did seem to add something more personal to Hiccup.
Anyway, thanks for reading, take care and stay safe!
