Not My First, But Maybe My Last @transducks
Meeting Drake anxiously waits to meet up with Launchpad and thinks about his feelings.

Nervously checking his phone, Drake stood beside the Cornelius Coot statue. He had arrived 30 minutes early, too anxious to wait any longer at Darkwing Tower. It didn't help that transport from St. Canard to Duckburg was unreliable at best, so he had been up by 6 am. At least Drake knew that Launchpad almost always showed up on time.

Speaking of Launchpad, Drake had almost passed out when he had texted the pilot yesterday. He had developed a crush on Launchpad almost right after they fought in his trailer. Yet, he still didn't know if Launchpad felt the same way, so any time they hung out Drake would go into a bi panic. Today he was going to try and change that.

The coffee shop Drake chose had only opened a few months ago but was already on a list of "Best Places To Bring A Date in Duckburg." Most of the drinks there were pricy, but Drake still had some hush money left over from the movie fiasco. It wasn't like he was paying rent anyway; Drake could afford a few overpriced coffees. He hoped he and Launchpad were able to find something they liked.

Hearing a loud screech in the distance, Drake checked his phone again to see how close it was to their meeting time. It was 8:58, so it was safe to say it was Launchpad making the racket down the road. Drake hoped he didn't end up crashing into the coffee shop, or else they would need to run and find a new place to hang out.

Wincing a bit as he watched Scrooge McDuck's limo come to a halt against a tree, Drake went to the driver's side to check on Launchpad. He let out a breath he didn't know he was holding as the pilot beamed up at him before exiting the vehicle. Drake didn't have time to take in a new one before Launchpad had him in a crushing hug.

"Drake! I'm so glad to see you!" Launchpad practically shouted as he twirled Drake around. "I know it's only been a week since we last hung out, but I'm sure you've had a ton of high-stakes battles keeping you busy. I'm glad you were able to make time to visit Duckburg!"

Drake was glad Launchpad couldn't see his face in the hug. Not only was he as red as half of Quackerjack's hat, but he was also grimacing at his mention of crimefighting. Drake still didn't have the heart to tell him that the only crime in St. Canard was the occasional purse-snatching. He didn't want to let Launchpad down.

"Of course I was able to make time for you, buddy," he gasped, trying to take in air. "But maybe we should keep the conversation about my activities on the down-low. Secret identity and all that."

Drake was finally released by Launchpad, who gave him a sheepish look. "Sorry about that, DW. Sometimes I get so caught up in the moment that I forget. No more mentioning your super cool job in public!"

Both of them started laughing as Drake turned towards the coffee shop, resisting the urge to grab Launchpad's arm. "Are you ready to stand in line for 10 minutes for some overpriced coffee?"

I'M SO, SO SORRY!!!!!!! The past year and a half has been rough, but I still should've tried to update sooner! It took me so long that Gosallyn is now in DT17 and the show has de-canonized my map of Duckburg. Just imagine that there is another Cornelius Coot statue in a park like in DT87. But sorry again!!! I'm planning on writing every day this November, similar to NaNoWriMo but with fanfic chapters and short stories, so I'll (hopefully) finish this before the month is up! I don't have a beta reader anymore, so please excuse any mistakes.
