See You Again @rainbowhairedgirl
Chapter 2

Authoress Note: Welcome to Chapter 2 of See You Again. I'm really glad that this story is being read. I hope that you guys like this next chapter. I've tried my best with this chapter with it being Wendigo which is a little bit harder for me to put my OC into the story.

Whiskey the Pain Away: I'm glad that you liked the idea of Constance possessing Andi. I really wasn't sure of how well it would be taken that she was possessed to get Sam to supposedly cheat on Jessica. I hope that you like future chapters of this story.

GetTheSaltGirl: I'm glad you're loving the rewrite. I thought that it was a pretty good idea to do a rewrite on this… I hope that I'm doing a good job with the rewrite. You still want her with Sam… yeah I think that it's still going to remain that way, but I'm not sure it I'll be swayed.

Skellington: I'm glad you love the past chapter. I hope that you like this next chapter.

Romance Lover: Thank you for this review I'm glad you're loving this. I hope that I do this next part justice.

Kitty-Chan: You want me to have her give John hell when they find him? I think that might happen. I'm not sure. I hope that you enjoy this next part.

Chapter 2

Something Out at Blackwater Ridge

November 10, 2005

Andi looked out the window listening to 'Hot-Blooded' playing over the radio. She mouthed the words to the song.

"Andi." Dean said calling the younger hunter's name causing her to look up.

"Yeah, Dean?" She asked her voice sounding a bit out of it due to the long hours that Sam had put them through searching for Sam's girlfriend's killer.

"You should rest Sweetheart." Dean said softly, giving her a small weak smile. He knew that she was exhausted from all the work that they had done.

"I'll be fine, honest Dean." Andi said giving him a small smile. She thought that it was nice that Dean worried about her was sweet, but he really didn't need to worry about her. She was already use to taking care of things by herself, she didn't need someone extra to watch over her.

Sam suddenly jerked awake causing Dean and Andi to drop the conversation that they were having. Sam rubbed his eyes as he woke up some.

Dean looked over at Sam with concern in his eyes. He was tired seeing his brother go through this and there was no way that he could help his little brother through this. "You okay?" He asked already knowing the answer that he wasn't alright.

Sam glanced over before glancing away, looking out the window. "Yeah, I'm fine." He said lying through his teeth. He didn't want to tell them that he was feeling a bit lost without his girlfriend, and he didn't want the pity of the two of them.

Dean nodded his head not fully buying what Sam was telling him and Andi, he knew that his little brother was hurting and there was really nothing that he could do about it. "Another nightmare?" Dean asked softly knowing that it was true that Sam was suffering from nightmares.

Sam cleared his throat shifting in the seat next to him confirming his brother's suspicion of him having a nightmare.

Dean looked at his brother out of the corner of his eyes. "You wanna drive for a while?" Dean asked hoping that the offer would help. Even though it was something that he never did.

Sam let out a laugh that sounded more like a scoff. "Dean, your whole life you never once asked me that." Sam looked at his brother. "You yelled at Andi for wanting to go and get supplies for us…"

"Oh don't bloody drag me into this." Andi piped up from the backseat, as a yawn taken over her words some slurring some of them together.

Dean let out a defeated breath. "Just thought you might want to. Never mind."

"Look, man, you're worried about me. Andi's worried about me. I get it, and thank you, but I'm perfectly okay."

Dean let out a hum not buying the fact that his little brother was okay. There was no way for someone to be okay after losing their girlfriend the way he had.

Sam grabbed the map from the backseat that was next to Andi. "Alright, where are we?"

"We are just outside of Grand Junction." Dean replied knowing that there was probably going to be an argument at the end of his answer.

Sam folded the map down some, which was of the state of Colorado. "You know what?"

Andi bit her lower lip looking at the younger brother. She never thought that she would see the day that he would look so defeated. She couldn't even tell Dean that she was worried about Sam spiraling out of control.

"Maybe we shouldn't have left Stanford so soon." Sam admitted softly knowing that they could've found Jess's killer, but they had fallen short. There was nothing left of their resources.

"Sam, we dug around there for a week. We came up with nothing." Dean let out a soft sight. "Andi worked her way through everyone her way and she came up with nothing as well." Dean shook his head lightly. "If you wanna find the thing that killed Jessica…."

Sam cut his brother off with a quick reply. "We gotta find Dad first."

"Dad disappearing and this thing showing up again after twenty years, it's no coincidence." He let out a breath as he looked over at Sam. "Dad will have answers. He'll know what to do."

"It's weird…" Sam said as he looked at the map again. "These coordinates he left us… this Blackwater Ridge."

"What about it?" His brother questioned as he gripped the wheel wondering what his little brother was thinking.

"There's nothing there. It's just woods." He put the map down again. "Why is he sending us to the middle of nowhere?"

Andi pursed her lips together. That was a pretty good question. Why was John sending them out into the middle of nowhere? Was there a case? And if there was, what were the chances of them actually seeing him, since he had left his journal behind. She pursed her lips together wondering how John would just so willingly leave his journal behind for the boys to find.

SPNSPN

Andi walked to where Sam was at looking at the 3D map of the national forest. Her eyes landed on where he was looking at the area that was labeled Blackwater Ridge. Her lips pursed together into a thin line.

"So Blackwater Ridge is pretty remote." Sam said as he continued to look at the map. "It's cut off by these canyons here, rough terrain, dense forest, abandoned silver and gold mines all over the place."

"Sounds like an everyday scavenger hunt for those who want adventure." Andi said softly as she crossed her arms looking at the map with a little bit of a sour look on her face.

"Guys, check out the size of this freaking bear."

Sam looked over seeing Dean looking at a framed photo.

Andi let out a breath, pinching the bridge of her nose. "He's your brother." Ani said softly as she went to walk over to see the photo.

Sam went over and stood next to Dean, who was very much still in awe of the photo. He let out a breath as he watched his brother.

Andi simply shook her head in disdain. She couldn't understand how someone like Dean could be so easily amused with something like a photo of a big bear.

"And a dozen or more grizzlies in the area. It's no nature hike, that's for sure." Sam said softly to them.

"You three aren't planning on going out near Blackwater Ridge by any chance?" The male voice rang out startling the three of them causing them to whip around like they were children that had gotten caught with their hands in the cookie jar.

"Oh, no, sir," Sam began hoping that his comment would smooth things over because the last thing that they need was this ranger stopping them from going out to Blackwater Ridge, "we're environmental study majors from UC Boulder, just working on a paper." He laughed a little hoping that his plan would work.

Dean grinned raising his fist. "Recycle man."

Andi closed her eyes trying her best not to groan. Of course Dean had to stick his foot into his mouth and this ruined the not so well thought out plan that they had if they ran across this problem.

"Bull."

Sam's eyes flickered over to Dean knowing that his plan didn't work and it wasn't a good sign. This mean that they were in trouble and there was no way that they would be able to go to Blackwater Ridge without someone knowing about it.

"You're friends with that Haley girl, right?"

Dean's eyes moved in thought thinking it over. Perhaps pretending to be this girl's friend would be just enough to get the information that they needed. Perhaps even talk to her to get the information of what was going on at Blackwater Ridge. He knew that this wasn't going to be a cakewalk for the three of them, if John intentionally left his journal behind for something like this. "Yes. Yes, we are, Ranger…" He quickly checked out the nametag to make sure that he said the right name. "Wilkinson."

The ranger shook his head as he looked at the three of them. He pinched the bridge of his nose as he looked from one hunter to the next. He shook his head again. "Well I will tell you exactly what we told her. Her brother filled out a backcountry permit saying he wouldn't be back from Blackwater until the twenty-fourth, so it's not exactly a missing persons now, is it?"

Dean shook his head knowing that with that information it was very true, but that was to a normal person's eye. It wasn't something that hunters did. He had to think on the opposite end and something was telling him that something was going on her.

"You three can tell that girl to quit worrying. I'm sure her brother's just fine." The ranger said with a soft breath.

"We will." Dean said with a firm nod of his head. "Well that Haley girl's quite a pistol, huh?"

"That's putting it mildly."

Andi slowly moved towards the Ranger. "Actually…" She batted her lashes a little surprising both Sam and Dean with what she was doing. Never once had they seen her do something like this. "You know what would really help us, sir, is if we could show her a copy of that backcountry permit. You know so she could see his return date?"

The ranger cleared his throat eyeing the British woman before swallowing the lump in his throat.

Andi bit her lower lip in hopes that he would actually give the permit over so they could be on their way and get started in their search for John. Her anger was fueling her at that moment because she had been overseas for almost three weeks and she wasn't with the person that had brought her over and that was what pissed her off the most.

SPNSPN

The three hunters walked down the path from the ranger station to the car.

Dean waved the paper in his hand happily laughing. "Great job there Andi, didn't think you had it in you to flirt sweetheart."

Andi let out a soft breath and simply shook her head. "You know sometimes it helps if it a woman to get the information."

Sam looked at the two of them like they had gone insane. "What, are you two cruising for a hookup or something?"

"What do you mean?" Dean questioned looking at his little brother. "I didn't do the work, that was Andi here." He gestured to the girl that walked with them.

"Besides Sam, if I really wanted to go for a hook up with a girl I would have done it a lot differently."

Dean's jaw dropped as he looked at Andi with wide eyes. "Are you..."

Andi let out a soft laugh as she walked towards the car.

Sam grumbled a little bit. "The coordinates point to Blackwater Ridge, so what are we waiting for? Let's just go and find Dad. I mean, why even talk to this girl?"

Andi put her hands up in the air wanting nothing to do with Sam's attitude.

Dean stopped and looked at his brother with a look of shock on his face. He hadn't expected Sam to be acting this way about the whole thing. He let out a breath shaking his head. "I don't know, maybe we should know what we're walking into before we actually walk into it?" Dean snapped looking at his brother.

Sam looked up at his brother his eyes wide. "What?"

Andi simply shook her head as she went to open the door to get into the car.

"Since when are you all shoot first ask questions later, anyway?" Dean questioned wondering what had happened to his brother, that was the man that asked questions first before firing his gun. He was beginning to turn too much into their father and it was worrying him a lot.

"Since now." Sam said turning away.

Dean turned and opened the door. "Really?"

"Can we just bloody go before our time runs down?" Andi questioned loud enough causing the two of them to get into the car. Andi shook her head as she relaxed some against the bench seat in the back. She tangled her hand into her bangs as she thought of the whole thing. She could tell right away that Sam was self-destructing and she couldn't even help him.

SPNSPN

Andi looked up at Sam as Dean knocked on the door of the Collins home. "Sam you really need to stop doing this..."

"I'm fine Andi, honest." Sam said trying his best to brush off the fact that she was worrying about him. The last thing that he wanted was her going into a panic attack because he wasn't coping well. After all it was what he deserved for what had happened when Andi was possessed by Constance and she had successfully had gotten him to cheat. Hell, it even made his heart hurt to think of what had happened between him and her.

Andi took a soft breath. "Okay… fine, don't talk to me Sam." She crossed her arms around her middle as she looked up at him with a worried gaze. "You will need someone to talk to someone soon, and it doesn't help when you're shutting everyone out." Andi stopped talking when she heard the front door open.

"You must be Haley Collins. I'm Dean, this is Sam, and this is Andi, we're, ah, we're rangers with the Park Service. Ranger Wilkinson sent us over. He wanted us to ask a few questions about your brother Tommy."

Haley hesitated as she looked at the three of them. She was unsure if she should allow them into her home. "Lemme see some ID." She said looking at them.

Dean pulled out the fake ID that was his and held it up against the screen door allowing Haley to look at it.

Andi pursed her lips together hoping that Haley would believe the ID Dean had.

"Come on in." Haley said opening the door.

"Thanks." Dean said with a smile.

Haley looked passed Dean's shoulder seeing the Impala parked in front of her home. "That yours?"

"Yeah."

Sam and Andi looked back at Dean's pride and joy.

"Nice car." Haley said as she turned to lead them into the dining room. Her little brother sat there on his laptop.

Dean turned his head and mouthed something to Andi and Sam causing the both of them roll their eyes at what he had mouthed.

Clearing his throat, Sam looked at Haley. "So, if Tommy's not due back for a while, how do you know something's wrong?"

Haley came back with a bowl of food and put it down onto the dinner table. "He checks in everyday by cell. He emails, photo, stupid little videos… we haven't heard anything in over three days now."

Andi bit her lower lip having a feeling that there was indeed something wrong. Whatever it was they were going to have to figure it out.

"Well, maybe he can't get cell reception."

She shook her head. "He's got a satellite phone, too."

Sam pursed his lips together in thought. Now that was really strange. It was leading him to believe that something indeed had happened to her brother.

"Could it be he's just having fun and forgot to check in?" Dean questioned as he looked at Haley.

Andi closed her eyes knowing that Dean was thinking that this was normal.

"He wouldn't do that." Ben said piping up causing Dean to look at him. Ben looked away biting his lower lip.

"Our parents are gone." Haley said as she put some food down. It's just my two brothers and me. We all keep pretty close tabs on each other."

"Can I see the pictures he sent you?" Sam asked curiously.

"Yeah." Haley went to the laptop Ben had been on and got onto it pulling up the photos he had sent. "That's Tommy." She clicked twice and a video popped up. She hit play on it.

"Hey Haley, day six, we're still out near Blackwater Ridge. We're fine, keeping safe, so don't worry, okay? Talk to you tomorrow."

Sam spotted a shadow flicking across behind Tommy.

"Well, we'll find your brother. We're heading out to Blackwater Ridge first thing."

"Then maybe I'll see you there."

Dean looked at Haley in surprise. He hadn't expected her to say that.

Haley let out a breath. "Look, I can't sit around here anymore. So I hired a guy. I'm heading out in the morning, and I'm gonna find Tommy myself."

Dean thought about it for a moment. If Sam had ever gone missing he would do everything in his power to find him. "I think I know how you feel."

Sam looked over at Haley. "Hey, do you mind forwarding these to me?"

"Sure." Haley said with a shrug of her shoulders.

SPNSPN

Andi picked at the label on her beer bottle as Dean sat down at the table with her and Sam. She looked over seeing that he had brought a round over. "Really Dean? I still have mine." She said scowling a little bit.

Dean shrugged his shoulders as he looked at his childhood friend. "Chill, sweetheart. It's just an extra beer. If you don't drink it, Sammy or I could drink it."

Sam rolled his eyes as he looked at his brother. "So, Blackwater Ridge doesn't get a lot of traffic. Local campers mostly. But still, this past April, two hikers went missing out there. They were never found." Sam opened John's journal.

"Any before that?" Dean questioned as he eyed his younger brother.

Sam pulled out the newspapers articles showing them to Andi and Dean. "Yeah, in 1982, eight different people all vanished in the same year. Authorities said it was a grizzly attack."

Dean read the headline on the Lost Creek Gazette.

Andi pursed her lips together.

Sam pulled out his laptop. "And again in 1959 and again before that in 1936."

Andi blinked a few times as Sam opened up his laptop. "Sound like every twenty-three years…"

Sam nodded his head as he looked over. "Every twenty-three years, just like clockwork. Okay. Guys watch this. Here's a clincher. I downloaded that guy Tommy's video to the laptop. Check this out." He pulled up the video and went through three frames of the video at one time allowing Andi and Dean to see the shadow cross the screen.

"Do it again." Dean said looking at his brother.

Sam repeated the three frames showing them again. "That's three frames. That's a fraction of a second. Whatever that thing is, it can move."

Dean smacked Sam's arm softly. "Told you something weird was going on."

"Yeah." Sam let out a breath and closed his laptop. "I got one more thing." He handed over another newspaper article. "In fifty-nine, one camper survived this supposed grizzly attack. Just a kid. Barely crawled out of the woods alive."

Andi and Dean looked at the newspaper clipping.

Andi pursed her lips together trying to think of what this case was all about.

"Is there a name?" Dean questioned looking up at Sam.

SPNSPN

Mr. Shaw led Sam, Dean, and Andi through his home. A cigarette hung from his lips. "Look, ranger, I don't know why you're asking me about this. It's public record. I was a kid. My parents got mauled by a…"

"Grizzley? That's what attacked them?" Sam questioned interrupting him.

He took a puff of his cigarette and took it out of his mouth, slowly nodding his head confirming what Sam had asked.

"The other people that went missing that year, those bear attacks too?" Dean questioned looking at Mr. Shaw. "We knew what we were dealing with, we might be able to stop it."

"I seriously doubt that. Anyways, I don't see what difference it would make." He said as he sat down. "You wouldn't believe me. Nobody ever did."

Andi put her hand on Sam's arm as she slowly moved. She sat down across from him her eyes filled with worry. "Mr. Shaw, what did you see?" She asked softly.

Mr. Shaw looked up at Andi. "Nothing. It moved too fast to see. It hid too well. I heard it, though. A roar. Like… no man or animal I ever heard."

Sam sat down next to Andi, his knee brushing against hers. "It came at night?"

Mr. Shaw nodded his head answering Sam's question.

"Got inside your tent?"

"It got inside our cabin. I was sleeping in front of the fireplace when it came in. It didn't smash a window or break the door. It unlocked it. Do you know of a bear that could do something like that? I didn't even wake up till I heard my parents screaming."

"It killed them?" Andi asked softly. Her throat tightening at the words.

"Dragged them off into the night." He shook his head. "Why it left me alive… been asking myself that ever since." His hand went to his collar of his shirt. "Did leave me this, though." He opened the collar showing the three long scars.

The three young hunters looked at the long scars.

"There's something evil in those woods. It was some sort of a demon."

SPNSPN

The three of them walked down a hall with doors on either side of them as they walked.

"Spirits and demons don't have to unlock doors. If they want inside, they just go through the walls." Dean said thinking out loud telling the truth of what the two younger hunters knew already.

"So it's probably something else, something corporeal." Sam said sticking his hands in his pockets.

"Corporeal? Excuse me, professor."

Andi let out a groan. "Shut up." Andi snapped at the older brother.

"What do you think?" Sam questioned his older brother as he walked with them.

"The claws, the speed that it moves… could be a skinwalker, maybe a black dog. Whatever we're talking about, we're talking about a creature, and it's corporeal. Which means we can kill it."

SPNSPN

Dean opened the trunk of the Impala and then went straight to the weapons box. He propped it open with a shotgun. He began to put guns into a duffle bag causing Sam an Andi to lean in.

"We cannot let that Haley girl go out there." Sam said to his brother.

Dean looked over at his brother. "Oh yeah? What are we gonna tell her? That she can't go into the woods because of a big scary monster?"

"Yeah."

Dean looked at his brother. "Her brother is missing, 's not gonna just sit this out. Now we go with her, we protect her, and we keep our eyes peeled for our fuzzy predator friend." He said as he picked up the duffel.

Andi let out a soft breath knowing why Sam was reacting the way that he was.

"Finding Dad's not enough?" He questioned slamming the weapon's box shut then the trunk causing Andi to jump. "Now we gotta babysit too?"

Andi let out a breath. "He has a point Dean."

Dean looked at the two of them, not saying anything.

"What?" Sam questioned letting out a soft breath.

"Nothing." Dean said throwing the duffel at him causing Sam's elbow to hit Andi before walking off.

The two younger hunters started after the older brother.

"What the bloody hell was that all about…" Andi said softly as she watched Dean walking away. She let out a soft breath rubbing her mouth tiredly.

"You know… you didn't have to agree with me on the whole babysitting thing." The younger brother admitted softly as he looked over at Andi.

Andi looked up at Sam. "You know… I don't want Haley out there as well…" She let out a soft breath. She simply shook her head softly. "But you would know if Dean went missing you would go hunting for him… I can't say the same because I don't have a sibling." She lightly patted Sam's arm before she walked away to follow his older brother.

Sam pursed his lips together as he watched her go. He wasn't sure of what to think at all. He knew she was right to a point that if Dean ever had gone missing he would look for him no matter what.

SPNSPN

Andi looked out the window as they pulled up. She took a soft breath as she went to get out of the car with the brothers. She ran her hand through her hair as she went to the trunk with Sam.

"You guys got room for three more?" Dean called out to them.

Haley looked at Dean with her brows furrowed. "Wait, you want to come with us?"

"Who are these guys?" Roy asked looking at the three new people that showed up.

"Apparently this is all the park service could muster up for the search and rescue." Haley said in distaste of the whole thing.

Sam and Andi walked past everyone carrying the bags that they had.

"You're rangers?" Roy asked looking at them like they were fakes and phonies.

"That's right." Dean said looking at Rory.

"And you're hiking out in biker boots and jeans?" Haley questioned looking at his outfit that he decided to wear.

Dean looked down at what he was wearing. He honestly didn't see the problem in it because he was hunting something… not going for the hiking part of it. "Well, sweetheart, I don't do shorts." He said as he went to walk past Haley.

"What, you think this is funny? It's dangerous backcountry out there. Her brother might be hurt.

The two younger hunters turned back to rejoin the group.

"Believe me, I know how dangerous it can be. We just wanna help them find their brother, that's all." Dean said as he walked past Sam and Andi.

Andi let out a breath shaking her head some. She knew that both of the boys were worried about John, hell she was too due to the fact that he had left her behind and she was upset about it all still.

SPNSPN

The large group hiked through the forest, Roy was in the lead, followed by Dean, Andi, Haley, Ben, and Sam brought up the rear of the group.

"Roy, you said you did a little hunting." Dean struck up a conversation in hopes to not piss Roy off.

"Yeah, more than a little hunting." Roy said proudly about his hunting skills.

Andi let out a breath as she walked next to Dean. She gripped her bag tightly knowing that Dean was trying to get enough information on Roy.

"Uh-huh. What kind of furry critter do you hunt?"

"Mostly buck, sometimes bear."

Dean passed Roy. "Tellme, uh, Bambi or Yogi ever hunt you back?"

Roy grabbed Dean.

Andi's brow raised as she and Sam watched on.

"Whatcha doing, Roy?"

Roy grabbed a stick and poked a bear trap that Dean had almost stepped in.

Haley stood with her arms crossed looking at Dean with agitation written across her face.

"You should watch where you're stepping. Ranger." Roy said as he dropped the stick and retook the lead from Dean.

"It's a bear trap." Dean said in shock.

Andi shook her head and slowly began to walk again with Dean.

Haley quickly caught up to them. She grabbed Dean's arm causing Andi to continue on without him.

Andi's mind wandered as she thought about how Dean almost stepped into a bear trap and it would have broken his ankle along with a few other things if he had stepped in it and that was something that they didn't need at the moment.

Sam caught up with Andi. "You look like you're deep in thought." He said pointing out causing her to looked over at him.

Her brows furrowed as she looked at him. "Yeah…" She let out a soft breath as she kicked the ground lightly. "He could've gotten hurt if Roy didn't stop him from stepping in the trap…" Her voice was low but low enough for him to hear. She didn't want Roy or Ben hear what she was saying.

Sam let out a soft breath and nodded his head knowing that was something that was concerning.

SPNSPN

Roy led them a while later, followed by Sam, Andi, Ben, Haley, and Dean. "This is it. Blackwater Ridge."

Sam walked past Sam. "What coordinates are we at?"

Roy pulled out his GPS. "Thirty-five and minus one-eleven."

Dean came over with Andi to Sam. The three of them listened to the area. "You hear that?"

"Yeah. Not even crickets." Sam said softly.

"That's not a good sign." Andi said softly looking at the brothers biting her lower lip softly as she looked around.

"I'm gonna go take a look around." Roy said as he went to go and leave.

"You shouldn't go off by yourself." Sam said warning Roy.

"That's sweet. Don't worry about me." He said waving his gun and pushed between Sam and Dean shoving them aside to take the lead.

Dean tumbled lightly in Andi.

"Bloody hell." She said pushing Dean forward.

Dean turned to Haley and Ben as they caught up. "Alright, everybody stays together. Let's go."

SPNSPN

Sam, Dean, Haley, Andi, and Ben were looking around near a large rock.

"Haley! Over here!" Roy's voice shouted from where he was which caused Haley to run towards his voice.

The others closely followed her and they stopped suddenly.

"Oh my God." Haley said as she and the group took in the sight of the torn open tents that were bloody and the supplies were all scattered around.

"Looks like a grizzly." Roy said looking around.

Haley and Dean looked around.

"Tommy?" Haley quickly took her backpack off and went through the campsite. "Tommy!"

Sam moved quickly catching up with her. "Shh…"

"Tommy!"

"Shh-hh-hh!"

"Why?" Haley questioned whirling around looking at the younger Winchester.

Andi came over to where Sam and Haley were. "Because something still might be out there."

"Sam! Andi!" Dean yelled out for the younger two hunters which caused them to go over to the older Winchester.

Sam and Andi crouched next to him.

"The bodies were dragged from the campsite. But here, the tracks just vanish. That's weird."

The three of them stood up.

Andi's stomach dropped at thinking of what it could be.

"I'll tell you what, that's no skinwalker or black dog." Dean said before going back to the campsite.

The two younger hunters followed him.

Haley picked up Tommy's phone which was bloody. She began to cry. She turned the phone over and the back is open.

Dean crouched down next to her. "Hey he could still be alive."

Haley gave him a look.

"Help! Help!"

Roy quickly moved leading the way as everyone ran out of the campsite to aid the person that was shouting.

"Help! Somebody!"

They whirled around seeing that there was no one there.

"It seemed like it was coming from around here, didn't it?" Haley questioned.

They listened and was dead silence.

"Everyone back to camp." Sam said looking at them.

When they arrived back at the camp, all their supplies were gone.

"Our packs!" Haley yelled in shock.

"So much for my GPS and my satellite phone." Roy said putting his hands on his hips in agitation.

"What the hell is going on?" Haley questioned, looking at the two hunters.

"It's smart. It wants to cut us off so we can't call for help." Sam said as he looked around.

"You mean someone, some nut job out there just stole all our gear." Roy said turning and looking at Sam with narrowed eyes.

Andi moved in front of Sam with her eyes narrowed.

Sam grabbed her arm and moved her towards Dean. "I need to speak with the both of you. In private."

The three of them moved away from the group.

"Good." Sam said running his hand through his hair. "Let me see Dad's journal."

Dean pulled it out of his coat and handed it over to Sam.

Sam flipped through the pages and found the page that he was looking for. "Alright, check that out." He said handing the book to Dean.

Andi looked over Dean's arm to look at the book.

Sam pointed at the First Nations-style drawing of a figure.

"Oh come on, wendigos are in the Minnesota woods or, or Northern Michigan. I've never even heard of one this far west." Dean said complaining looking up at his brother.

"Think about it, Dean, the claws, the way it can mimic a human voice."

"Great." Dean huffed as he pulled his pistol of of the back of his pants. "Well then this is useless."

Sam handed the journal back to Dean and walked past Dean. He stopped for a moment. "We gotta get these people to safety." He headed back to the campsite.

Andi let out a breath. "He's really headstrong on this case."

"You have no idea." Dean said softly as the two of them headed back to the campsite.

"Alright, listen up, it's time to go. Things have gotten… more complicated." Sam said as he looked at the three non-hunters of their group.

"What?" Haley questioned in confusion.

"Kid, don't worry. Whatever's out there, I think I can handle it." Roy said looking at Sam.

Andi let out a scoff. "It's not him he's worried about."

Roy turned his attention to Andi. "What are you talking about British?"

Andi bit the inner part of her cheek as she looked at Roy her eyes burning in anger. "You shoot at this thing, you're just going to bloody piss it off."

Sam nodded his head with what Andi was saying. "We have to leave. Now."

"Oh you two are talking nonsense. Two, you're in no position to give anybody orders."

Andi went to launch herself at Roy, but a firm arm wrapped around her pulling her back flush with his body. Andi could tell by the scent that it was none other than Dean that had stopped her from attacking Roy. "Relax."

"We never should have let you come out here in the first place, alright? Andi and I are just trying to protect you."

Roy got into Sam's space looking at him. A sneer came across his face. "You protect me? I was hunting these woods when your mommy was still kissing you good night."

"Yeah? It's a damn near perfect hunter. It's smarter than you, and it's gonna hunt you down and eat you alive unless we get your stupid sorry ass out of here."

Roy let out a laugh. "You know you and that girl are crazy right?"

"Yeah? You ever hunt a wen…"

Dean pushed his brother.

"Roy!" Haley yelled at the man that she had hired.

"Chill out." Dean said to Sam looking at him.

"Stop. Stop it. Everybody just stop. Look. Tommy might still be alive. And I'm not leaving here without him."

Andi let out a groan closing her eyes. She pinched the bridge of her nose, she knew that there was no way that Haley was going to simply leave as much as her and Sam had wanted to. This was way too dangerous.

Dean let out a breath before looking around. "It's getting late. This thing is a good hunter in the day, but it an unbelievable hunter at night. We'll never beat it, not in the dark. We need to settle in and protect ourselves."

"How?" Haley questioned looking at him.

Andi slowly moved her duffle bag from her shoulder and slowly got into it. "Dean." She called out.

Dean looked over at Andi, his brows furrowing. He watched the youngest of their little hunting group come over to him. He noticed a book in her hands. "Where… where the hell did you get a book like this?"

Andi shook her head at Dean's question. "There is a time and place for that Dean and that time isn't now to be asking those questions and you bloody know it."

Dean slowly took the book from her. "This isn't over."

Andi rolled her eyes at what Dean had said. "It's always the same with you Winchesters." Andi said as she walked away from him with her pack over her shoulder.

Andi sat next to Sam with a lit cigarette between her fingers. She let out a soft breath.

"That was nice of you… with the book I mean." Sam said softly looking over at her.

Andi looked over at Sam and pursed her lips together. "Yeah… I've had that book for a little while… I thought maybe since we were doing a woods case… I thought maybe it would be helpful." Andi shrugged her shoulders some, "But of course Dean jumped all over me wondering how I had such a book."

Sam let out a soft dry laugh. "Of course he would."

Dean came over to where they were sitting at. "You wanna tell me what's going on in that freaky head of yours?"

"Dean." He said looking at his brother.

"No, you're not fine. You're like a powder keg, man, it's not like you. I'm supposed to be the belligerent one, remember?" Dean said pointing out the fact that Sam was derailing and it wasn't a good sign.

Sam looked up at his brother. "Dad's not here. I mean, that much we know for sure, right? He would have left us a message, a sign, right?"

"Yeah, you're probably right. Tell you the truth, I don't think Dad's ever been to Lost Creek."

"Then let's get these people back to town and let's hit the road. Go find Dad. I mean, why are we still even here?"

Andi let out a breath rubbing her mouth softly.

"This is why." Dean came around to Sam and held up their father's journal. "This book. This is Dad's single most valuable possession… everything he knows about every evil thing is in here. And he's passed it on to us. I think he wants us to pick up where he left off. You know, saving people, hunting things. The family business."

Sam shook his head. "That makes no sense. He left Andi behind in Jericho and he brought her over for a reason…" Sam let out a breath. "Why doesn't he just… call us? Why doesn't he… tell us what he wants, tell us where he is?"

Dean let out a breath looking over at Andi seeing the look on her face and he knew that she was still upset with the whole idea of their father leaving her behind in Jericho alone for who knows how many days. "I dunno. But the way I see it, Dad's giving us a job to do, and I intend to do it."

"Dean… no. I gotta find Dad. I gotta find Jessica's killer. It's the only thing I can think about." Sam admitted softly. He wanted to get justice for his girlfriend so he then could move on with his life. He hated the fact that she was taken away from him the way that she had been.

"Okay, alright, Ssam, we'll find them. I promise. Listen to me. You've gotta prepare yourself. I mean, this search could take a while, and all that anger, you can't keep it burning over the long haul. It's gonna kill you. You gotta have patience man."

Sam looked down and then up. "How do you do it? How does Dad do it? Hell how does Andi do it?"

Andi looked over at Sam and bit her lower lip knowing that he was questioning everything right at that moment and honestly she really didn't blame him for wanting to know. But for everyone it was different that came into the hunting life. John thought about something different, she was sure that Dean did too.

"Well for one…" Dean looked over to where Ben and Haley were. "Them."

Sam and Andi slowly looked over at the siblings.

"I mean, I figure our family's so screwed to hell, maybe we can help some others. Makes things a bit more bearable." Dean let out a soft breath. "I'll tell you what else helps."

Andi and Sam looked over to what Dean was saying looking at him.

"Killing as many evil sons of bitches as I possibly can."

Sam smiled softly.

A twig snapped causing the hunters to go into alert.

"Help me! Please!" A voice yelled out echoing in the silent woods.

Dean quickly got to his feet readying his gun.

"Help!"

Sam shined his flashlight around looking around hoping that they would be able to see something out of this wendigo.

"He's trying to draw us out. Just stay cool, stay put."

"Inside the magic circle?" Roy questioned rolling his eyes.

"Roy how about you shut the bloody hell up before something bad ends up happening to you." Andi snapped looking over at him, only to receive a nasty look from him.

"Help! Help me!"

Suddenly growling could be heard.

Roy pointed his rifle at the noise. "Okay, that's no grizzly."

"No shit." Andi said scoffing some.

Haley let out a shriek as something rushed past around the circle.

"It's here."

Roy shot at the rustling and then again. "I hit it." Roy left the circle to go and see what he had hit.

"Roy, no! Roy!" Dean yelled before turning to Haley and Ben. He went to say something.

"Oh for bloody sake go after him before he gets himself killed." Andi ordered the brothers. "Go… I'll stay with them."

The brothers rushed away from the camp to bring back Roy.

Haley held her brother close to her. "How can you be so calm with this thing out there?" She asked her voice wavering in fear.

Andi looked over at Haley and slowly kneeled down some. "Sometimes it is something that has to be done. And with this type of thing… I've been doing it for a long time… I've kind of just learned how to handle things like this."

Haley swallowed the lump in her throat. "How many times have you seen this type of thing… better yet… how many…"

"Years?" Andi questioned looking at the two siblings. "How many years have I been doing something like this?" Andi rubbed her mouth in thought thinking to how long she had been exposed to this life. "With this life… I have had been exposed to it for a long time. But actually physically doing this type of thing...perhaps only since I was 18."

"And how old are you now?"

"Twenty-two."

Haley swallowed the lump in her throat.

Andi turned her head as Sam and Dean made it back to camp without Roy. She pursed her lips together and knew that there was no way that Roy was coming back alive. He shot at the wendigo and literally had gotten himself killed.

Andi looked around holding a cigarette between her fingers. Her lips pursed together into a thin line before slowly making her way over to where Dean was. She hadn't even noticed that Sam was on his way over.

"Hey." Sam said softly.

Haley slowly got up to her feet.

"So we've got half a chance in the daylight. AndI for one want to kill this evil sn of a bitch." He said as he looked at Dean. "Well, hell, you know I'm in."

Sam looked at Andi.

Andi nodded her head. "I'm in too."

Sam turned to the page in their father's journal to the wendigo page. He showed it to Haley and Ben. "Wendigo is a Cree Indian word. It means 'Evil that devours'."

"They're hundreds of years old. Each one was once a man. Sometimes Indian, or other times a frontiersman or miner or hunter." Dean explained as he looked over at the two non-hunters.

"How's a man turn into one of those things?" Haley asked her voice wavering a little in fear.

Dean began to pick some things up hoping that he had enough to use for what he needed to make.

"Well, it's always the same thing."Andi said looking at Haley and Ben. "During some harsh winter a guy finds himself starving, cut off from supplies or help. Becomes a cannibal to survive, eating other members of his tribe or camp."

"Like the Donner Party." Ben said softly thinking about a history lesson that he had in school.

"Cultures all over the world believe that eating human flesh gives a person certain abilities. Speed, strength, immortality." Sam said as he watched his brother gather up stuff.

"If you eat enough of it, over years, you become this less than human thing. You're always hungry." Dean said as he finished gathering up the stuff that he needed.

"So if that's true, how can Tommy still be alive?" Haley asked.

"You're not going to like it."

The three hunters glanced at each other and then to Haley.

"Tell me."

"More than anything, a wendigo knows how to last long winters without food. It hibernates for years at a time, but when it's awake it keeps its victims alive. It, uh, it stores them, so it can feed whenever it wants. If your brother's alive, it's keeping him somewhere dark, hidden, and safe. We gotta track it back there."

"And then how do we stop it?"

"Well, guns are useless, so are knives. Basically…" He held up the can of lighter fluid, the beer bottle, and the white cloth he picked up. "We gotta torch the sucker."

Andi let out a breath. "And we only pretty much have one shot at this…" Andi rubbed her mouth softly.

"I don't miss Andi."

Andi rolled her eyes at what Dean had said.

Dean led the group through the woods with the Molotov cocktail in his hand. Behind him Haley followed with Ben and Andi and Sam brought up the rear of the group. They passed trees with various claw marks and blood.

A while later Sam was leading the group. Sam looked around with his lips pursed together. "Dean. Andi."

The two hunters caught up with him.

"What is it?" Dean questioned looking at his younger brother wondering if he had found something out.

They looked around at the trees. There were bloody claw marks and broken branches everywhere.

"You know, I was thinking, those claw prints, so clear, and distinct they were almost too easy to follow."

Growling could be heard causing the three hunters to whip around.

Haley stood underneath one of the trees and blood dripped down onto her shirt. She noticed it and looked up. She leapt out of the way as Roy's corpse landed where she had been standing.

Dean quickly went over to check Roy over.

Sam went over to Haley. "You okay? You got it?"

Dean looked up from Roy. "His neck is broke."

Sam helped Haley up to her feet.

More growling could be heard.

"Dean… Sam.." Andi called out.

"Okay, run, run, run, run, go, go, go!" Dean yelled.

They all took off running to try their best to out run the wendigo.

Ben ended up tripping and Sam rushed back to help him as Andi, Haley, and Dean continued to run.

The three of them stopped short.

Haley let out a scream as the wendigo was right in front of them.

Ben looked to where his sister had ran. He quickly followed Sam to find that Haley, Dean, and Andi were gone.

"Dean! Andi!" Sam yelled as he looked around. His eyes wide with fear. No… he couldn't lose them both. Dean was his rock at the moment… and Andi… god his feelings for her… they were deep… and he hadn't expected them to slowly starting to crumble his resolve. Granted he wanted to find Jess's killer, but his feelings for Andi was creeping up on him more than he cared to admit.

Ben walked with Sam with his lips pursed together. "If it keeps its victims alive, why would it kill Roy?"

"Honestly? I think because Roy shot at it, pissed it off." Sam said as he walked. Worry building up inside of him.

Ben found a small trail of peanut M&M's and picked one up. "They went this way."

Sam caught up to Ben who handed over the M&M. Sam let out a soft laugh. "It's better than breadcrumbs." He tossed the M&M away.

They followed the trail, which led them to a mine entrance marked with a sign.

Sam looked at Ben shrugging his shoulders before going inside.

Ben followed him.

Sam shined his flashlight ahead of them. Sam heard the growling and quickly shut the light off. He pulled Ben against the wall with him.

The Wendigo came towards them.

Sam's hand shot to Ben's mouth covering it so he couldn't scream. That was the last thing that they needed. Sam slowly led Ben once the Wendigo went into another tunnel.

The floorboards creak and they ended up falling through the floor landing on a pile of bones.

Ben leapt backwards when he noticed a pile of skulls.

"Hey, it's okay, it's okay, it's okay." Sam said trying to soothe the young teenager, but he knew that there was no way that he would see a normal life after all of this… after some hefty counseling sessions perhaps.

They looked up and saw Andi, Haley, and Dean hanging by their wrists.

Sam rushed to Andi and Dean as Ben rushed to his sister.

"Dean… Andi!" Sam grabbed his brother shaking him. "Dean!"

Dean slowly opened his eyes.

"Hey, you okay?"

Dean winced a little bit. "Yeah." He groaned softly. "Check on Andi… he got her pretty good."

Sam cut Dean down first while Ben got his sister down. Sam quickly went to Andi to get her down. They helped the three of them over to the floor that was empty.

Dean made a noise of pain.

Sam looked at his brother with a worried gaze. "You sure you're alright?"

Dean grimace. "Yeah. Yep. Where is he?"

"He's gone for now." Sam said softly.

Dean quickly began to check Andi over. "Come on sweetheart wake up…"

Andi groaned softly as she slowly came to.

Sam watched with his heart thudding in his chest watching how his brother was being careful and tending to Andi.

Andi let out a soft groan as her cognac eyes slowly opened.

"Come on sweetheart… there we go."

Andi let out a groan slowly sitting up. "Bloody hell…" She said as she held her head softly.

Sam moved quickly rushed over to where Haley had gone which had led straight to Tommy.

"You okay there, sweetheat."

"Promise me something…"

Dean nodded his head. "Anything sweetheart."

"We won't ever go after one of these bloody bastards again."

Dean slowly got her up to her feet. "You got a promise there sweetheart." Dean noticed something on the ground. "Hey… you okay for standing."

Andi nodded her head some. "Yeah." She said softly.

Dean moved and picked up a flare gun. "Check it out!" He called looking back at Sam.

"Flare guns. Those'll work." Sam said with a smile.

Andi nodded her head nodding her head a smile on her lips.

Dean laughed twirling the guns.

"You bloody idiot don't do that." Andi snapped as they began to walk down the tunnel. Her, Sam, and Dean leading the way with Dean and Sam having their flare guns.

Growling could be heard which caused the three hunters to look around.

"Looks like someone's home for supper." Dean said as he gripped his gun.

"We'll never outrun it." Haley said her voice lacing over with fear.

Dean looked at Sam and Andi. "You thinking what I'm thinking?"

Sam nodded his head. "Yeah, I think so."

Andi nodded her head knowing that there was only one shot at this and they couldn't fuck it up.

"Alright, listen to me. Stay with Sam and Andi. They're going to get you out of here." Dean said softly to Ben, Haley, and Tommy.

"What are you gonna do?" Haley asked as she held her brother up. Her eyes showed the fear she felt.

Dean winked at her and started walking away. "Chow time, you freaky bastard!" Dean yelled as he walked away from them. "Yeah, that's right, bring it on, baby. I taste good."

Sam stood with Andi waiting for Dean to be a safe distance away. Sam looked over. "Alright, come on! Hurry!"

The three Collins siblings followed Sam and Andi down the tunnel.

"Sometimes I wonder about your brother." Andi said as she kept up with the younger brother.

Sam let out a soft chuckle. "Yeah, me too, but that's what makes Dean, Dean."

Andi let out a soft chuckle as she rushed with the four of them to try and get out of the mines.

Growling could be heard causing the hunters to stop.

Sam held up his gun pointing it at the wendigo. "Get them out of here, Andi."

"Sam, no." Andi said softly.

"Go! Go! Go!"

"Come on, Haley." Ben said looking at his sister.

"Be careful Sam." Andi said as she rushed with the three siblings.

"You're just going to leave him?" Haley questioned looking at her with wide eyes as they rushed.

"If you haven't noticed Haley I don't have a flare gun… they do… I'm doing what Dean said we were going to do." Andi looked at Haley. "And that's get the three of you out of here alive."

Heavy footsteps could be heard as Sam rushed back with the group.

"Sam!" Haley yelled in surprise.

"Come on, hurry, hurry, hurry." Sam yelled as they rushed.

They got to the end of the hall which was pretty much a dead end which the wendigo was right behind them.

"Get behind me."

Andi, Haley, Ben, and Tommy huddled behind Sam's huge form.

Andi peaked around Sam's side and saw Dean sneaking up behind the wendigo. Andi gripped onto Sam's flannel.

"Hey!" Dean yelled causing the wendigo to turn. Dean fired the flare gun and it went right into its stomach. Dean watched as it went up in flames. Dean looked at Sam and Andi. "Not bad, huh?"

The two younger hunters grinned some.

Andi leaned against the Impala as she watched Sam with Ben. Her eyes fell to Dean whom was getting a kiss from Haley on the cheek. Andi shook her head softly as she saw Sam come over to where she was.

"You alright?" He asked softly.

Smiling, she nodded her head.

Sam smiled softly, he was glad that she was alright.

Dean came over joining the two of them. "Man, I hate camping."

"Me too."

"Same." Andi said waving her hand as they watched the ambulance drive away.

"Sam, you know we're gonna find Dad, right?" Dean questioned as he looked over at his younger brother.

Sam looked over at his brother. "Yeah, I know. But in the meantime? I'm driving."

Dean tossed Sam the keys.

Andi let out a soft chuckle as the three of them went to get into the car. The three doors almost slammed in sync.

Sam started the car up and began to pull away.

Andi let out a breath.

"You should try to get some rest sweetheart." Dean said looking back at Andi.

Andi let out a soft chuckle. "Worried about me Dean?" Andi questioned looking up at him, her tongue poked out between her lips.

Dean let out a soft chuckle. "You know it sweetheart. Get some rest. We'll wake you when we're at the motel, okay?"

Andi nodded her head softly. "Okay that sounds great to me."
