Chapter 26
Margarita sat in the living room with her daughter holding her close to her body as they watched the television on one of the learning channels that Mischa wanted to watch. She stroked some of her daughter's hair back as they watched the television. Her mind kept going back to what had happened the day before when they had gone to the old farm that Elliot had lived on when he was a child and what she had told Jack.
She was concerned for Will with everything that was going on. She knew that he was slowly starting to lose himself due to the cases that they had gone on. What bothered her the most was that she knew Will was thinking of leaving and he wasn't the only one. This case had brought more into light than what she had wanted to see. It hurt her to know that Jack was just also using her like he was using Will, but she was making her voice more heard than what Will was trying to do.
She looked up when she heard footsteps coming into the living room. She pressed a soft kiss to Mischa's head softly as she slowly got up to her feet. She saw that it was her husband coming into the room. "I take it that your meeting with Bella was cut short." She questioned softly as she looked at her husband trying her best to not let their daughter hear in on what she was talking about.
"Yes, Jack arrived." Hannibal told his wife softly as she came closer to him.
Margarita let out a soft breath. "I have to admit I knew it wasn't going to take long for him to fully figure it out."
Hannibal wrapped his arms around her pulling her close to him. "You already knew?"
"He figured it out yesterday." She admitted softly letting out another soft breath as Hannibal rubbed her back softly. "I had warned Bella when she had left your office a few days ago that she should tell him about whatever it was. But I guess she didn't if he looked like he was heartbroken…"
"Cancer can do such a thing."
Margarita bit her lip softly. "So that's what she has. I knew that it wasn't something good. Not when you smelled her one night at dinner."
Hannibal looked into his wife's green eyes. "I know that probably made you feel uncomfortable."
"Perhaps." She admitted softly, biting her lower lip softly. "I know that you meant nothing by it."
Hannibal took a deep breath through his nose taking in her scent that he adored so much. "The Angel Maker case?"
"It's closed." She said softly letting out a soft breath. "The killer killed himself… we knew that it was a matter of time before something like this happened. Of course Jack didn't like the idea that we were too late."
Hannibal hummed softly as he kissed the top of her head lightly. "There's no one else in my books for today to see."
Margarita looked up at Hannibal, her brow raising slightly. "Of course… you have something planned?" She questioned curiously as she looked at him.
"Yes, I think us eating dinner as a family might be helpful for us tonight don't you think?"
Margarita bit her lip softly as she looked up at her husband. "I think Mischa will like that idea." She admitted softly, offering her husband a soft smile.
Hannibal smiled softly at his wife stroking some of her blonde hair back as he looked at her.
"How are you feeling?" He asked softly knowing that the case had made her sick which concerned him. It made him wonder if she was indeed pregnant with their second child.
Margarita offered him a small smile. "I'm alright." She told him softly knowing that he was rather concerned about her feeling ill during the Angel Maker Case. "So I take it Jack is here with Bella to talk to her…"
"Yes, in my office."
Margarita let out a soft breath. "Of course. They couldn't do it at their own home. They just have to do it in ours…"
"I don't mind them using my office."
Margarita nodded her head slowly. "Are you certain that you're alright with taking her on as a patient?"
"Yes, if I can help her in any way."
Margarita gave him a soft smile. "That is one of the many reasons why I love you. You're so willing to help everyone… well…" She let out a soft laugh. "All except for the rude ones of course." She mused softly, giving him a cheeky look.
Hannibal's brow raised knowing what exactly she meant by what she said. She was keeping it rather light with their daughter sitting in the room. They didn't need Mischa to know the truth of what they did in the shadows. It was best to keep their young child safe and sound and away from the dark world that was out there.
"Shall I help you with dinner?" She asked, looking up at her husband with a small smile.
"Would you like to?" He questioned softly stroking her arms softly with his hands knowing that it made her happy to have his hands on her. He knew that it showed his love towards her and how happy the two of them were together.
"I would love to help you make dinner Hannibal." Margarita said with a soft smile. She was glad that her husband was allowing her to help make dinner. She looked over at her daughter to see that she was still watching the television. She slowly walked over, placing a soft kiss on the top of her light brown hair.
"Mommy?" Mischa questioned tearing her eyes from the television to look up at her mother.
"Just watch the television sweetheart. Your daddy and I are going to make dinner."
Mischa pouted slightly. "I can't help?"
Hannibal let out a soft chuckle seeing that his daughter was taking after his taste and joy of cooking.
Margarita looked at her husband, her brow raising.
Hannibal looked at his daughter. "You look like you're enjoying watching the television sweetheart."
Mischa pouted sadly looking up at her parents.
"Sweetie, I'm sure that you can help later on." She pointed it out to her daughter.
"You and daddy want some alone time?" She questioned softly looking at her parents with wide brown eyes. "That's fine." She let out a soft giggle knowing that her parents needed some alone time together so they weren't missing each other so much during the day.
Margarita flushed a little bit knowing that her daughter loved seeing the two of them together as a family.
Hannibal wrapped his arm around his wife and slowly led her out of the living room to take her towards the kitchen.
"I have to admit our daughter is very bright, perhaps too bright for a two year old." Margarita admitted softly as they walked towards the kitchen.
"She takes after us both. She was bound to be smart, Rita." Hannibal said as he rubbed her back softly leading her right into the kitchen. "Shall we make your favorite for dinner?"
Margarita looked up at her husband as her lips quirked a little bit, knowing exactly what he was talking about. "Of course, Hannibal."

This is the end of Chapter 26. I hope that you guys enjoyed this chapter. It was pretty much fully an OG chapter which of course took a while to write it out and of course make it good to read. Hopefully I didn't fail in writing it. Please leave a review and let me know what you think. Reviews help me keep going when it comes to writing. I will update on Friday with a new chapter hopefully. Until next time.
