Bellethiel isn't considered strange. She's a scholar who's content to avoid adventure to better hide from the maniac trying to kidnap her. The tables are turned; however, she decides to enter The Ceremony of Maidens as the first elven candidate to break the curse of Prince Rowan of Calamerdon. Consequently, this puts her in the danger she hoped to avoid.
